Online Reporting System

Welcome to the Novato Police Online Reporting System. The Online Police Reporting System allows you to initiate a police report for a variety of crimes and then print a copy of the submission for your records. Also, certain types of reported activity will be directed to the appropriate resource within the Novato Police Department for timely review and consideration. Not all reported activity will generate an online police report. Please read instructions carefully.

File a report online, IF:

• This is NOT an emergency. In an emergency call 9-1-1.
• There are no known suspects. (Specific identifiable information to include a name, address, license plate number, etc)
• The event did not occur on a state freeway.
• You have a valid email address.
• This incident occurred within the Novato City limits. *A Novato resident may file an online police report for Identity Theft that occurred outside Novato City limits.

If you answered ‘yes’ to all of the above questions, you are ready to file your report or provide information online.

• All cases filed and information provided using the Online Police Reporting System will be reviewed.
• Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.
• Filing a false police report is a crime. The Novato Police Department will prosecute false reports.
